THE DUANE AND ARLEEN STOWE FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP - MUST BE A JUNIOR OR SENIOR IN COLLEGE AND ATTENDING A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON - AMOUNT IS $1,000

THE AARSTAD FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP - MUST BE A JUNIOR OR SENIOR IN COLLEGE; MUST BE ATTENDING ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING - WSU; WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY; CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY; UNIVERSITY OF PUGET SOUND; OR CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY IN CHICO.

Amount is $1,000

 

 THE BURLINGTON-EDISON ALUMNI FOUNDATION/DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS/ROTARY RENEWABLE SCHOLARSHIP  - THIS SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE COMPLETED AT LEAST ONE YEAR OF COLLEGE; YOU MUST HAVE A MINIMUM COLLEGE GPA OF 3.0; YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED. THIS SCHOLARSHIP IS RENEWABLE, MEANING THAT IF AWARDED TO YOU, THAT YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO RECEIVE THIS SCHOLARSHIP FOR A TOTAL OF THREE YEARS WITH THE INITIAL AWARD BEING $1500, THEN $2,000 THE SECOND YEAR, AND $2500 THE THIRD YEAR.  YOU MUST MAINTAIN A MINIMUM COLLEGE GPA OF 3.0 AND PROVIDE AN ANNUAL TRANSCRIPT TO DEMONSTRATE PROGRESS TO ACHIEVING YOUR DEGREE.

IF YOU HAVE ALREADY CREATED A STUDENT PROFILE IN CHAPTER NET, LOG IN TO THAT PROFILE AND UPDATE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO REFLECT WHERE YOU ARE AT IN YOUR LEVEL OF SCHOOLING ACHIEVED; GPA; SCHOOL YOU ARE ATTENDING; AND YOUR FIELD OF STUDY.  ALSO UPDATE YOUR GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS ESSAY AS WELL AS UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES ESSAY TO REFLECT WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE SINCE GRADUATING FROM HIGH SCHOOL.  ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED THESE UPDATES, CLICK ON SEARCH FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND YOU SHOULD SEE ONE OR ALL OF THE ABOVE SCHOLARSHIPS MATCH TO YOU IF YOU HAVE MET THE CRITERIA.

Congratulations Seniors! The process of choosing recipients for the scholarships under The B-EAF, Dollars-For-Scholars program was and is always a bittersweet road. In a perfect world, we could give a scholarship to every senior seeking higher education. Each and every one of you who have applied is well deserving. It is clear we have a strong future because of all of you. With that being said, we ended the year by giving out 54 scholarships totaling $241,020!

NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY...

Berentson Family Scholarship

The Duane Berentson Family have created a new scholarship that will be available this spring to graduating seniors from both Burlington-Edison High School and Burlington North.  This is a fantastic new scholarship opportunity! The applicants for this scholarship will have to be attending a community college or trade/technical school in Skagit, Whatcom or Snohomish counties; be pursuing a degree or certificate in a trade or technical field of study; have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; and have been an active participant in school and/or community activities while attending high school.  The best news of all is that this scholarship will be awarded to TWO students in the amount of $5,000 each for the first year and be renewable for an additional $5,000 for a second year!!

Join us in our purpose. In existence since 1992, the Foundation's primary focus has been creating and funding local scholarships for B-E graduates pursuing academic, technical or trade school secondary education.

Award consideration of school and community involvement, scholastic achievement, personal goals, successes at personal challenges and/or financial need.

Donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations provide the funding for local scholarships. Your help in achieving this mission will make a positive impact on the future of our community.
